Senior Partner, Hunton & Williams
Shown here on the left, Eppa Hunton IV graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1927. He became a senior partner in the Richmond firm of Hunton & Williams, which his father had founded at the turn of the century. He also served as the Rector of Virginia Commonwealth University. Hunton died in 1976 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Hunton Hall at Virginia Commonwealth University is named in honor of him and his father. The University of Virginia School of Law gives the Eppa Hunton IV Memorial Book Award, donated by the associates of Hunton & Williams in his memory. It is presented to the student who has demonstrated unusual aptitude in courses in litigation and who has shown a keen awareness and understanding of the lawyer’s ethical and professional responsibility.© by the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia
