Free online Constitution. In print, the Constitution is located in the first volume of the Code of Virginia. The library's resources on the Constitution include A. E. Dick Howard, Commentaries on the Constitution of Virginia (Reserve KFV 2801 1970).

A free, unannotated version maintained by the Virginia General Assembly. Search by keyword or browse the table of contents. The current edition of the annotated Code of Virginia 1950 is in the Virginia Reference Collection (KFV 2430 1950), and superseded volumes are in the Caplin Reading Room.

The laws passed in each legislative session since 1661. Print versions of the Acts of the General Assembly are available in the Caplin Reading Room (KFV2425 .A213).

William Waller Hening's 13-volume Statutes at Large, covering 1619-1792, is available online for free, as well as in the library (KFV 2425.2 1619a).

Opinions since mid-1995 of the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Court of Appeals of Virginia are available through the Virginia Judicial System website. Virginia Reports (KFV 2445 .A2), containing decisions of the Supreme Court of Virginia, and Virginia Court of Appeals Reports (KFV 2448 .A2) are available in the Caplin Reading Room. Selected opinions from Virginia trial courts are published in Virginia Circuit Court Opinions (KFV 2451 .A33) (and are available on Lexis and Westlaw).

A compilation of the current administrative rules and regulations hosted by the Virginia General Assembly. Search or browse the contents. The library maintains a print copy of the Virginia Administrative Code (KFV 2435 1992 A2) in its Virginia Reference Collection.

The Virginia Register, where proposed and final Virginia state rules are published before entering the Virginia Administrative Code, is released biweekly. A print copy is available in the in the library's Virginia Reference Collection (KFV 2436 .V57).

Attorney general opinions since 1996 are available on the Attorney General's website. The library also has print copies of the Opinions of the Attorney General (KFV 2840 A55294).

Codes for Virginia counites and independent cities are generally available through local government websites. Municode.com has codes for Albemarle County, Charlottesville, and more than half of Virginia's other jurisdictions. Others are available from General Code Corporation.
